Great Job, CVMS Math League Students!
CA High School Contest 3 scores and other contest scores
The CA HS contest 3 results are now on our math league website by students ID only. If you don’t see your score, most likely, you didn’t write your ID on your test paper. There have been few students, who have not had their ID numbers on all previous contests. If you want to know your scores, you can request them by emailing to
cvmsml08@gmail.com
We have re-done the contest scores by placing a navigation menu on the left side of the website. There are sub-menus: AMC 8, CA HS, and MOEMS. Under them there is a list of contest links.
MOEMS Contest 3 on January 5, 2010
MOEMS 3 Contest will be this coming Tuesday noon, Jan. 5, 2010. All 3 sessions will be taking the contests: Session A: room 905; Session B: room 301; Session C: room 603. Please arrive promptly after the bell rings.
We Need Volunteer Parents! Violet Abraham, our volunteer coordinator has been working very hard to recruit volunteer parents. It is because of her and those devoted parents that we were able to run math league smoothly for the past 10 weeks. Now we don’t have enough parent volunteers to cover the second half year. We need each of you to help! CVMS Math League is solely operated by parent volunteers. The school asks us to have two parent supervisions in each room. We need 6 parents each Tuesday to cover 3 sessions. No experience is required. We simply need you to be in the classroom and help to grade the papers if it is a contest day. The estimate time during the lunch period is about 50 minutes for a non-contest day, and about 1 hour 20 min for a contest day. Please contact Violet to volunteer at your convenience. We thank you in advance for your time!
New Event Calendar Available
You might want to print a copy as a reference.

Welcome to CVMS Math League!
1. We Need Volunteer Parents -Without your participation, we may not be able to run the Math League this year – we have 150 students registered/signed. Please sign the slots of the volunteer sheets, now uploaded on www.cvmsml.com - sheet_1 for proctoring, sheet_2 for supervision and coaching, toggle the tabs on the left bottom of the page. Sign multiple slots if possible. We need many volunteers (each room needs two people and we plan to have at least two rooms) to cover the job.
2. If you are planning to join the Math League this year, you need to register, including old members. Please do the paper registration by printing a form from http://cvmsml.com/sites/default/files/Registration2009-2010.doc, with a $35 check, payable to CVMS PTSA. Drop the application at the CVMS Math League box in the front of office.
4. This coming Tuesday is our first Math League session. There will be an assessment in room 603 (for 7th graders) and room 301 (for 8th graders) starting at 12: 20 pm sharp. Please arrive on time.
- The assessment is to help your child best benefit from the math league.
5. Every new student needs to create a new account to have full access to the Math League website. Click the “Create New Account” link under the User Name and Password boxes on the left side of the menu bars. On the Student Calendar Page, the green words are clickable and lead to a pdf file of the old contest.
6. The old contests posted on the web have the solutions linked on side. Be sure to use them. 2009-2010 new contests with the solutions will also be uploaded, in about one week after the contest day, in consistent with the regulation. However, the solutions to the contest just taken will be given to students before they leave the room. Study these questions with your child may be the best way of learning since the math league is “contest-based”.
7. This is the first and the last email to all emails obtained.
- In future communication, emails will be sent to those who have paper registration - print the form if you registered online, thank you! Drop the registration into the math league box in front of the office.
- We will use Google group to send the emails in future. You don’t have to have a gmail account to view the mails.
8. Future information will be posted in Announcement on the webite .
